Each month PASA will feature a new Catalog of On-Site Artist Services (COSAS) artist, showcasing their unique discipline and style and allowing viewers a more in-depth look at each artist in the catalogue.

Diana Kersey is our inaugural COSAS artist of the month!  Diana specializes in ceramics, and applies her craft to both studio pottery and architectural design. She creates distinctive, small-scale ceramic objects as well as unique architectural ceramics for interiors, including kitchen backsplashes and ceramic murals.

Diana’s work has been described as raw and textural, often combining imagery inspired by nature, such as wildlife, insects and vegetation, with rough, energetic patterns. She works with a unique color palette, which complements her designs through the use of vibrant blues, greens, and an array of natural earth tones.

Diana is one of 13 local artists who were chosen to work on public art projects associated with the City’s  2007-2012 Bond Program.  The Catalpa Pershing Bridge Modifications Project will be Diana’s first public art work for the City of San Antonio. She is working closely with project engineers, architects and community to develop unique design enhancements for 2 bridges along the Catalpa Pershing Channel near Brackenridge Park.

Diana Kersey received a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from Washington State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drawing from Texas Tech University.  She is an active member of the community and participates in many local art events and activities. She was a featured artist at the recent 17th annual Texas Clay Festival in Gruene, where she gave public demonstrations of her craft.
